A Pioneer in Chemical Recycling (SOLVOLYSIS)
Vartega® has pioneered a unique chemical recycling process (solvolysis) to remove epoxy resin from uncured and cured composites that are commonly discarded from aerospace and wind energy applications.
This process recovers clean carbon fiber, epoxy resin, and process chemistry in a closed loop sustainable process. The technology has low power requirements and uses essentially no water (so no energy is required for drying). This process is currently being scaled up to higher volume processing lines to increase Vartega’s capacity for addressing waste from aerospace manufacturers to recover high value carbon fiber (often intermediate modulus and high strength fiber) for use in creating higher-value chopped fiber blends for more demanding thermoplastic engineering applications.
Recycling capacity is also being dedicated to address end-of-life wind turbine waste.
