Autodesk and Vartega Joint Presentation at ANTEC 2025

Bringing recycled carbon fiber to the world of injection-molded thermoplastics cuts the entry price in half for the same great material.  But even 50%-off carbon fiber is still more expensive than glass fiber in specialty engineered resins. Successful adoption of carbon-fiber-filled thermoplastics means designing parts from the ground up to take advantage of this unique material: replacing metal components with rigid injection-molded parts, using lighter and less expensive base resins, thinner walls, and less material.

This is where Autodesk and their Digital Manufacturing product portfolio shine.  Their Moldflow product suite leads the industry in guiding the design and manufacturing of injection molded thermoplastic (and thermoset) components. Combining Moldflow simulation capability with Autodesk’s latest generation Fusion design and engineering environment is a powerful combination for exploring the art of the possible in new mechanical product programs.

Autodesk are great believers in our cause and are invested in Vartega’s success.  (Literally.)  They’ve been wonderful partners in enabling our growth, through help with funding, with software grants, with connecting us with key partners, and in the partnership with their consulting organization through their Autodesk Pro-Bono Consulting program.

Our latest project together has been exploring the use of carbon-fiber-filled polypropylene vs. traditional glass-filled nylon. This has helped us see what’s possible to push the boundaries of lightweighting and material reduction in engineering programs.  It’s still a work in progress but the initial work is encouraging.  Autodesk will be presenting this project on our behalf at the upcoming ANTEC conference in Philadelphia on March 3-6, 2025.  Sit in on the session if you’ll be there.  Reach out to us at sales@vartega.com if you’ll miss the event but would like to learn more.

It takes a lot of hands on deck to make meaningful progress in the world.  We’re grateful beyond words for the partnership and help from Autodesk to push us towards success.
