How We’re Making the Future More Sustainable

Vartega has developed a low-cost grade of carbon fiber through the use of its patented recycling process, which creates a recycled fiber with mechanical properties similar to virgin material. Vartega's recycled fibers are used in broad ranging applications including chopped fiber, thermoplastic pellets for additive manufacturing or injection molding, and 3D printing filaments.

Much of the carbon fiber we recycle comes from manufacturing scrap as dry carbon fiber is produced. By recycling dry fiber, we don’t have the need to remove any chemical resins, which allows for a less time and energy consuming process than involved with methods such as solvolysis or pyrolysis.

By utilizing the Vartega process, thousands of tons of waste will be diverted from landfill each year. This creates a positive environmental impact, as well as various positive economic impacts. By using Vartega’s Fenix Fiber, more people can have access to the benefits of carbon fiber in composites, opening up new industries to countless possibilities
