Vartega Selected as VERGE Accelerate Finalist

(Honolulu) May 4, 2016 – Vartega Carbon Fiber Recycling LLC has been selected as a finalist for the VERGE Accelerate Showcase at VERGE Hawaii 2016, to be held June 21-23. Andrew Maxey, President of Vartega, will present during the VERGE Accelerate: Demonstration Showcase on the main stage of VERGE Hawaii.

About Andrew Maxey

Mr. Maxey founded Vartega Carbon Fiber Recycling in 2014 to develop low-cost carbon fiber recycling processes and thereby drive sustainable and widespread carbon fiber adoption for vehicle lightweighting applications. Prior to founding Vartega, Mr. Maxey served as Vice President, Engineering at CO2Nexus (now Tersus Solutions): directing their design and development efforts in novel textile processing for commercial, industrial, and clean room applications.  His areas of focus included solvent filtration and purification processes, research and development, equipment design, automation, heat transfer, and thermodynamics. Mr. Maxey also has experience in oil and gas processing, HVAC systems, and human powered transportation technology. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
